Spanish Mackerel

    Spanish mackerel are
    fairly small with most
    fish averaging less
    than 2 pounds.
These fish travel in schools and they feed on squid and
small fish.  The most common method of fishing for
spanish mackerel would be trolling spoons about a half
mile to a few miles from the beaches.  Certain beaches do
provide some surf fishing opportunities for spanish
mackerel, but most of your success will come trolling in a
    boat.
