Finding Northern Pike and Muskie
Rivers
Pike and muskie are found in many rivers. Deep, slow
rivers are more adequate for these fish, but pike can be
found in many rivers and streams that are known for trout
and smallmouth bass. You will find most pike and muskie
in backwater areas around weedbeds and in deep pools
with little current. Fish will stay in these areas throughout
the entire year. When you find good areas in a river, try
to find other similar areas throughout the river and you
will find more pike and muskie. In murky water, you can
catch pike and muskie throughout the day. Morning and
evening produce good results, but many fishermen have
their best success during the day.
