Lake Geneva attracts thousands of people each year. Located just north of the Illinois
- Wisconsin border, it is known as one of the top fisheries in Wisconsin. The lake is
large and deep with crystal clear water. There are endless amounts of activities in
Lake Geneva. From golfing to horseback riding to boating and fishing, there is plenty
to do here for the entire family. While Lake Geneva can be a tough lake to fish, it is
easily one of the top trophy fishing lakes for big smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and
northern pike in the southern part of Wisconsin. Smallmouth bass above 4 pounds,
northern pike above 10 pounds and largemouth bass above 5 pounds are all possible
in Lake Geneva. This lake will take some time to learn and the clear water makes it
tough to entice a strike. Light tackle and deep water is a good combination for
targeting the smallmouth bass. Largemouth bass can be caught near the docks and
weeds. Big pike can be caught in deeper water off of the points and weed lines.
Walleye fishermen have their success at night. Perch, bluegill and rock bass fishermen
do well on light tackle once they locate the schools of fish.
