Smith Mountain Lake is a very large artificial lake that is located southeast of Roanoke,
Virginia.  With over 20,000 acres of water and more than 500 miles of shoreline, this
lake is a water lover's paradise.  Boating and fishing are very popular on the lake.  
Fishermen target many species, but many of the anglers come here for the striped
bass.
