    Google Map of Lake Oahe
Lake Oahe stretches 231 miles from
Oahe Dam all the way north to
Bismarck, N.D. This is the largest of
the four Missouri River reservoirs, and
is known as the “Big Water.”   North
Dakota contains about 60 miles of Lake Oahe, which extends
another 120 miles into South Dakota, where it ends at Oahe Dam
north of Pierre.  The lake has a maximum depth of 205 feet.
Swimming, water-skiing, camping, picnicking, fishing, boating,
and exceptional hunting are the most common sports here.
North Dakota’s portion of the reservoir supports a walleye and
northern pike fishery, along with seldom tapped but enticing
crappie, catfish and white bass possibilities. The fantastic walleye
and trophy northern pike should be enough to bring you to the
lake.  Anglers usually target the healthy population of big pike
and walleye on Lake Oahe.
