Elk Creek, located in northwestern Pennsylvania, is a tributary of Lake Erie and it is
popular among steelhead fishermen. This tributary is Pennsylvania's largest and most
popular. The creek is stocked by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission with
steelhead and brown trout. Fishing is best from late fall through spring. The most
popular spots to fish are at the mouth or along the first mile or so after the mouth.
Steelhead will stack up inside the mouth of the creek until a good rain pushes them up
the creek. For more information on Elk Creek, check out the link below from the
Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. They have some very good, detailed
information on Elk Creek.
