Lake Sakakawea is one of the three
largest man-made reservoirs in the
nation.  The lake has a surface area of
about 368,000 acres and is 178 miles
long with depths ranging from 70 to
175 feet in the main channel.  The lake
offers many opportunities for boating
and fishing.  The lake can be a
challenge for new fishermen because of its size, but it will
definitely reward you once you learn the hot spots.  You can
catch rainbow and brown trout, chinook salmon, walleye, sauger,
saugeye, giant northern pike, crappie and perch.
