Elephant Butte Lake is actually a reservoir on the Rio Grande in New Mexico. It is the
largest reservoir in New Mexico and it is also a part of the largest state park in the state.
Fishing and boating are popular recreational activities on Elephant Butte Lake. The
lake provides some excellent fishing opportunities for striped bass and you can also
catch white bass, largemouth bass, crappie, walleye and catfish.
