Lake Mead is located on the Nevada / Arizona border.  The Nevada side of Lake Mead
is much more popular because of its close location to Las Vegas.  It is the largest
man-made lake and reservoir in the United States.  The lake was formed by water
impounded by Hoover Dam and it extends 110 miles behind the dam.  Lake Mead is a
popular lake for fishing and boating, although it has been going through a drought
(February 2008), which has had an impact on the lake.
