Ovando is a small town that is named after the first postmaster, Ovando Hoyt. There
are a number of guides and outfitters in the area that will put you on some fish. The
Blackfoot River is the most popular river in this area. It is known for its excellent trout
fishing. Some of the other rivers that guides will take you on are the Missouri River,
Clearwater River, North Fork, Clark Fork and others. Fishing and windsurfing are also
popular on Browns Lake, which is near Ovando.
