The St. Joseph River is about 210 miles long and it flows through southern Michigan
and northern Indiana.  The river is very popular among fishermen.  Thousands of
steelhead enter the St. Joseph River every year.  Because of the river's size and flow,
there are times that wading is impossible so fishing from a boat is more popular.  The
river has plenty of deep pools and runs that will hold steelhead and chinook salmon.

According to the Michigan DNR, the catch ratio on the St. Joseph River is much higher
than on other Michigan waters.  The fishery is excellent on the St. Joseph River and
there are plenty of fishing charters available to take you out for a trip.  For information
