Higgins Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Michigan. The Cut River connects
Marl Lake to Higgins Lake. There are a couple of state parks which provide very nice
beach facilities, camping, launch sites and hiking trails. There are a few boat launch
areas around the lake for public access. This lake is very deep with an average depth
of 44 feet and a maximum depth of 135 feet. Because of its depths, the water stays
fairly cool making it a good lake for northern pike, trout and perch.
