Starved Rock State Park is a popular weekend getaway destination for people that live
in the Chicagoland area. There are many things to do here with thirteen miles of hiking
trails, eighteen canyons, boating, paddlewheel boat rides, horseback riding and
camping.
Fishing is very popular at Starved Rock State Park. The Illinois River has a
tremendous walleye and sauger fishery - arguably the best in Illinois. You can also
catch catfish, white bass, crappie and carp.
