Lake Springfield is a 4,260 acre lake located in Springfield, Illinois.  The lake was
created as a source of water for the city as well as providing coolant for the city water,
light and power coal-fired electrical generating plant.  The lake is enjoyed by many
people for its recreational activities.  Fishing and boating are very popular on Lake
Springfield.  

Some of the species anglers target are
crappie, catfish, striped bass, largemouth bass,
muskie and bluegill.
