Illinois is a huge state that offers a lot to fishermen. The most popular place to fish is
definitely Lake Michigan with the huge salmon and trout to go along with perch and
even smallmouth bass. Illinois isn't a state that gets a lot of tourism from people
planning fishing trips, but there are plenty of places to fish. Smaller lakes, ponds and
forest preserves keep anglers busy and if you can get access to a farm pond, you have
a good chance at catching some bass in the 4 to 5 pound range.
