Clinton Lake is located about 30 miles west of Champaign, Illinois.  This 4,900-acre
lake is popular for fishing and boating.

Fishermen love this lake because they have so many options.  The lake has good
populations of
walleye, crappie, catfish, striped bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth
bass, white bass and bluegill.  Striped bass over 10 pounds are not uncommon.
Catfish lovers can catch them from the bank as well as from a boat.  The spillway area
provides some excellent fishing in the spring for walleye and striped bass.  Because of
the size of this lake, some anglers might have some trouble catching fish on their first
couple of trips out, but you will be rewarded if you put the time in to find some of the
better fishing spots.  There are a lot of quality fish in Clinton Lake.
