Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach are two small beach towns that are located next to
each other in Sussex County, Delaware. The population of both of these towns
combined nears 2,000 people, but there can easily be 100,000 people hanging out in
these towns during a weekend in the summer. These towns are known for being wild
summer party towns, but this area is also a popular resort town among families because
of the wide, sandy beaches and numerous hotels, condos and cottages that can be
found here.
The fishing is extremely popular here with numerous charter boats that fish the inland
bays, near shore wrecks and artificial reefs as well as offshore waters. Some of the
species that anglers catch are striped bass, sea trout, bluefish, flounder, kingfish, spot,
croaker, blowfish, sharks, mackerel and tuna. Depending on the time of the year,
fishermen can have a lot of success fishing the surf.
