Wrangell is located on the north end of Wrangell Island on Alaska's inside passage.
The town is in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Wrangell is small with some
lodging and a few fishing charters. Many people come to Wrangell as a base camp for
exploring the regions wildlife, scenery and fishing. Saltwater fishing is popular for all
five species of Pacific salmon, halibut and snapper. Freshwater fishing is also
available. There are rivers and streams within an hour's drive. You can catch salmon,
dolly varden, char and cutthroat trout in the rivers and streams.
