Sitka, Alaska is a beautiful city in southeast Alaska. It is surrounded by snow-capped
mountains on the east and by the Pacific Ocean on the west. The fishing is
outstanding and there are numerous fishing charters available to take you out on a trip.
On a charter, you can expect to catch king salmon, coho salmon, halibut, lingcod and
yellow eye. King salmon average 25 to 35 pounds with some fish reaching 50 pounds
or more. Halibut average 25 to 50 pounds, but many are caught weighing over 100
pounds.
