every type of salmon. Combine the fishing
and the beautiful mountain scenery and

King (chinook) salmon are here in
bunches and they are huge. The silver (coho) salmon flourish
here as well. They are known for their superior strength and
fighting ability. Halibut fishing is also good in Juneau. Halibut
over 100 pounds are common here. Dolly Varden, cutthroat and
steelhead trout are found in the rivers, lakes, streams and
saltwater shoreline areas. The Gastineau Salmon Hatchery
stocks Twin Lakes each year with small salmon, which gives you
another option for fishing. Fly-fishing is very popular here as
