Dillingham is located at the far northern end of Nushagak Bay in northern Bristol Bay,
at the confluence of the Wood and Nushagak rivers. This area offers some of the finest
fishing in the world with many fishing charters and lodges available. It is not a large
town, but it is very popular as a tourist destination. This area is known for the
Nushagak river which features one of the largest king salmon runs as well as runs from
the 4 other types of Pacific salmon. The river also supports dolly varden, rainbow trout,
grayling, char and northern pike.
