Lake Mitchell is located in central Alabama, about 10 miles east of the city Clanton.  
The lake is an impoundment on the Coosa River and it covers 5,850 acres totaling 147
miles of shoreline.  This lake is popular for fishing, boating and swimming.  The fishing
on Lake Mitchell is good for a variety of species.  Most anglers fish for largemouth
bass, spotted bass, crappie and bluegill, but there are also channel catfish, flathead
catfish and blue catfish in the lake.
