Osceola Outback Adventures  |  Osceola, Florida

  • The fishing was unbelievable.  Almost a fish every cast.  Most fish were in the 3 to 5 pound range
with a couple bigger ones, but this was back in the spring of 2007.  The fish grow very fast, so they
    should be huge by now.

  • I fished with Byron Hennecy, who is the owner of Osceola Outback Adventures.  I stayed at a small
trailer home that offered a room with a shower.  On Byron's website, there is a page with more
information on the lodging.  (www.osceolaoutback.com/cabin)  I don't recommend it for families, but it
will definitely work for a couple of fishermen.  I stayed there for one night with my wife and dog, then
we went to Orlando for a week long vacation.

  • The people at the cottage were very nice and they even told us about a great dog beach that we
could visit.  Daisy (my dog) loved it.  I'm glad we ended up staying at the cottage for the night, but I
can't recommend it for longer periods of time because Orlando and Kissimmee are fairly close and
there is so much lodging in those towns that can offer nice hotel rooms, restaurants, pools,
    entertainment, etc.

My Recommendation:  It's expensive, but well worth it if you have the money.  It was $800 for up to 4
people for 4 hours of fishing the last time I checked.  If it's in your budget, go here with 4 people and
your arms will be ridiculously sore and your memory sticks on your cameras might be full.  The fishing is
unbelievable.

As nice as the people were at the cottage (and I have to say, they were extremely nice and helpful), I
wouldn't stay there for more than a night.  If I ever go back down there, I will stay in the Orlando area
and just drive down for the fishing for one day, then head back to the hotel with a pool.

Important......There is absolutely nothing to do in this town.  The fishing is outstanding and worth the trip,
but you can easily drive down here from Orlando and just spend a day at the private ponds.
