| Jigging Spoons are one of the most popular saltwater fishing lures. They are used in boats, on piers and along the surf. They work great for casting because of their weight. Jigging spoons are fairly heavy which allows anglers to cast them far. From piers, their weight gets down to proper depths without having to add additional weights. Jigging spoons work because they imitate a wounded bait fish. Vertical jigging is most common. With this technique, just drop your spoon down to the bottom and jig it straight up, then let the lure fall back to the bottom. Repeat this until a fish tries to rip your rod out of your hand. |
