Jigging Spoons are not as popular as they should be.
They are a great bait for catching good-sized fish.
Anything from panfish to bass to huge saltwater fish will
eat a jigging spoon.  They are great baits for deep water
fishing.

How To Use Jigging Spoons
Jigging spoons are most commonly used in deep water
situations.  Most anglers vertically jig these baits.  Drop
this bait down to the bottom and then jig up about a foot
off the bottom, then let the bait fall down again.  Vary your
depths until you get a strike.  For suspended fish, count
your lure down until you think you are at the right depth.

Where To Use Jigging Spoons
The most common depths are between 18 and 40 feet,
but some anglers do fish them shallower while others fish
them in 100 feet of water for lake trout.

Types of Fish Caught on Jigging Spoons
Panfish, bass, crappie, pike, trout, salmon and pretty
much anything that eats other fish.

Problems With Using Jigging Spoons
Anglers don't have too many problems using jigging
spoons.  They are an easy bait to fish.  Just make sure to
really jerk it up hard, then let the bait flutter back down to
the bottom.  This is when you will get most strikes.  Don't
forget to use the countdown method for varying your
depths.  The fish might be suspended and a 10 count is
all you need.  On other days, a 25 count might be needed
to get down to 25 to 30 feet of water.
