| Bucktail Spinners: Bucktail spinners are in-line spinnerbaits, or spinners, that have their back treble hook dressed up with some hair. When most people hear of bucktail spinners, they think of northern pike and muskie. Bucktail spinners are great baits for these ferocious fish. The bucktails that attract pike and muskie are usually fairly big lures. Smaller bucktail spinners will catch many other species such as trout, bass, walleye and many types of salt water fish. Bucktail spinners are fairly easy to use. A slow, steady retrieve will produce some excellent results. You may want to tie a ball-bearing swivel on your line to avoid line twist, especially if you are trolling. |
