EDITOR’S NOTE: Due to rapidly changing weather conditions in the Sierra and Northern Nevada, anglers are urged to call ahead to the sources listed at the end of each area description for reports on the latest road and water conditions.
FRENCHMAN LAKE: There hasn’t been much change in conditions here. The ice is still about 12 inches thick. Access is clear to the dam. Hike or take a snowmobile to other locations. Warmer weather is predicted, but there should be fishable ice for the next couple of weeks. Call ahead for updates. Wiggin’s Trading Post, (530) 993-4683.
