$20M tug-of-war over cabin funds

A quiet $20 million tussle is taking place in Montana, with the winner controlling the money and interest raised through the 2002 sale of 265 cabin sites around Canyon Ferry Reservoir.
The Department of Interior claims the federal government owns about $20 million socked away in the Montana Fish & Wildlife Conservation Trust. Members of two local boards created to manage the trust fund, as well as Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., say the people of Montana own the $20 million. The trust fund manager, the nonprofit Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Foundation, which has a perpetual contract to manage the trust fund,
