Swimbaits for Smallmouth Bass
Smallmouth bass will definitely eat a swimbait. You’re just going to have to down size your swimbaits to consistently catch smallmouth bass. Remember, smallmouth have a much smaller mouth than largemouth bass. 4 to 5 inch swimbaits will do the trick, although, a 6 inch swimbait will help put some bigger bass in the boat.
Slow retrieves and fast retrieves will work. Water temperature will play a big role in how swimbaits work for you, so pay attention to the water temperature and remember your experiences with these baits.
