Swimbaits for Smallmouth Bass

Smallmouth bass will definitely eat a swimbait.  You’re just going to have to down size your swimbaits to consistently catch smallmouth bass.  Remember, smallmouth have a much smaller mouth than largemouth bass.  4 to 5 inch swimbaits will do the trick, although, a 6 inch swimbait will help put some bigger bass in the boat.

Slow retrieves and fast retrieves will work.  Water temperature will play a big role in how swimbaits work for you, so pay attention to the water temperature and remember your experiences with these baits.
