Cobia can be found throughout the waters around Key West during the winter through the early spring.  Offshore charters target cobia with live bait, artificials and with fly fishing equipment.

Cobia are a seasonal fish around the waters of Key West.  Just check the latest Key West fishing reports and you’ll see when the cobia have arrived in the area.

Bucktail jigs and noisy, diving plugs are good artificial lures for cobia.  Live baitfish such as pinfish, blue runners, eels and crabs will work well for cobia.  There are many other types of live bait fish that will also catch cobia.
