Hard Baits consist of all your typical favorites such as crankbaits,
topwater lures, stickbaits and other hard baits that imitate bait fish.  
These lures are very effective inshore around piers, canals, inlets, rivers
and the surf.  Most of these baits work best when used with a medium to
fast-paced retrieve.  An erratic twitch during your retrieve every now and
then typically creates more strikes.  Topwater lures are very productive.  
Try a twitch and pause retrieve for best results.  When using crankbaits
with a lip, get them to dive down into the sand to create more of a scene.  
This extra attention will excite more fish meaning more strikes and more
fish in the boat.
