Trailer Hitches
Trailer hitches are used to attach the boat trailer to your
vehicle. A basic ball mount hitch is what you will need to pull
most boats. There are a variety of hitches and specialty ball
mounts for specific purposes, but for pulling an average
boat, just make sure that the size of the ball mount matches
the size of your trailer and you should be set. If there is any
reason why you would need some specialty ball mount or
trailer hitch, your boat manufacturer should supply that
information when you purchase your boat. If you are not
sure what you need for your hitch, just make sure to ask the
sales associate and you can even call the manufacturer.
There are some products on the market that provide some
additional safety in case the trailer detaches from the ball
mount. For an extra $50 or so, you can buy a product that
will prevent this from happening. Do your research. If it's in
your budget, it's worth spending the extra money for your
own peace of mind when hauling your boat on a long trip.
