Kodiak Island is an amazing fishing destination in Alaska.  All 5 species of Northern Pacific Salmon can be caught on Kodiak Island and it usually gets going in June with the King Salmon and Red Salmon and it continues through the fall as the Silver Salmon can be caught here as late as mid-October.

Resident King Salmon (also called feeder kings) are fish that can be caught trolling off the coast year round if that is something that interests you.  Anglers also venture out into the Kodiak seas for halibut, which can be very big.  Some other fish that are caught while fishing for halibut are salmon, ling cod, gray cod and rockfish.
