Alabama Conservation Department commissioner Barnett Lawley signed a regulation Tuesday that immediately set a 10-fish per person per day recreational bag limit on flounder.  

That limit also applies to fish taken by any means during a jubilee, said Alabama Marine Resources director Vernon Minton.

Adapt to the fish for dog-days fillets

Fish do a much better job of adapting to the effects of the dog days of summer than do humans. In order to catch fish this time of year, we have to do a better job of figuring out what they’re doing to beat the heat.

Local guide Scott Jordan told me fishing early and late in the day is still working for him to locate speckled trout in a feeding mood. He has also found even better success by making sure to be fishing his primary spots right around the tide change.
